The Tank Storage Association (TSA) has congratulated Andy Burnham MP on his appointment as the UK’s new Prime Minister and said it looks forward to working with the new Government to support the future of the country’s bulk storage and energy infrastructure sector.

Peter Davidson, chief executive of the TSA, said the association is keen to engage constructively with the Prime Minister and his ministers as the Government begins its work, with a focus on promoting a secure, resilient and thriving bulk storage industry.

Davidson also called for greater recognition of the sector’s contribution to the UK economy, highlighting the important role bulk storage and energy infrastructure plays in supporting industrial activity, strengthening resilient supply chains and enabling the efficient movement of essential products.

According to the TSA, the sector connects a wide range of stakeholders, from industrial producers and residential consumers to international traders, and remains a critical component of the UK’s energy and industrial infrastructure.

The association said it looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Government and industry stakeholders to help drive innovation, strengthen resilience and support the long-term development of the sector.
