Patrick Terminals has announced a major fleet investment with Kalmar, placing an order for 10 Hybrid Straddle Carriers for its Melbourne terminal and 12 Hybrid AutoStrads for its Sydney AutoStrad Terminal. Delivery of the new equipment is scheduled for completion in Q2 2027.

The investment forms part of the companies’ 10-year strategic partnership and supports Patrick Terminals’ ongoing decarbonisation programme. The introduction of hybrid-powered equipment is expected to reduce fuel consumption and emissions across two of the company’s busiest terminals while maintaining the operational performance and reliability required by customers.

Patrick Terminals CEO Michael Jovicic said the order represents another important milestone in the long-term collaboration with Kalmar, with the AutoStrad technology continuing to play a key role in terminal operations.
