Handling large hoses under pressure, whether for firefighting, industrial fluid transfer, civil security applications, or any other operation involving hoses, has long been a physically demanding and inefficient task. Operators often contend with significant friction, heavy manual pulling and repetitive strain, all of which can contribute to musculoskeletal injuries over time.
French company HOSE-PULL has developed a patented solution designed to address these challenges: an all-terrain, omni-directional rolling device that clips directly onto hoses to facilitate their movement.

How it works
The system uses Mecanum-style omnidirectional wheels, a technology more commonly associated with industrial robotics, allowing the hose to move freely in any direction across virtually any terrain, without the need for manual dragging or repositioning.
“The idea was simple: reduce the physical burden on operators while extending the working life of the hose itself,” says Xavier Pineaud, CEO of HOSE-PULL. “Friction is one of the biggest causes of hose wear, and it is also one of the most physically demanding aspects of the job for teams working on the ground.”
Applications across sectors
Although originally developed for firefighting applications, HOSE-PULL has found uses across a wide range of industries, including:
- Industrial tank cleaning and fluid transfer
- Civil security operations
- Oil and gas
- Winemaking (vat room hose handling)
- Aeronautics
- Cement production
- Hydro-excavation
- Truck unloading
The product is available in three standard cradle sizes 70 mm, 75 mm and 110 mm with adapters that accommodate all hose diameters below 110 mm. This allows users to integrate the system with their existing hose fleets rather than replacing them. Bespoke solutions are also available for hose sizes above 110 mm, up to 8 inches.
Growing global presence
HOSE-PULL is currently used in more than 30 countries, and the company continues to expand its international distributor network, with increasing interest from major manufacturers and suppliers in the firefighting equipment sector.
