BKV Corporation has completed the acquisition of upstream, midstream and carbon capture and storage (CCS) assets in the Barnett Shale. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands BKV’s production capacity and operational footprint in the basin, while adding to its natural gas, midstream and carbon capture operations. The company said the assets are expected to create greater efficiencies through shared infrastructure and increased scale.

The acquired portfolio includes more than 65 MMcfe/d of production, approximately 0.35 Tcfe of proved developed producing (PDP) reserves, and around 117,000 net acres, primarily in Montague County. It also includes approximately 1,000 operated wells.
The midstream assets comprise a gas processing plant with 180 MMcf/d of capacity, around 340 miles of owned gas gathering lines and approximately 225 miles of water gathering infrastructure.
The portfolio also includes an operated CCS project that captured more than 100,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ over the 12 months through the first quarter of 2026, supported by three compressors, a gas plant, a CO₂ pipeline and injection well.
The transaction closed on 15th September 2026 after customary closing conditions were met. BKV said the acquisition was funded through cash on hand and borrowings under its revolving credit facility.
