Chane has announced the appointment of Karen de Lathouder as chief operating officer (COO), effective 1st August 2026. She will also join the company’s Leadership Team as part of her new role.
De Lathouder joins Chane with extensive executive leadership experience across the energy, infrastructure and mobility sectors. She most recently served as chief operating officer at Eneco, following a career that included senior leadership positions at Shell, AkzoNobel, Orpic and BP.

In addition to her executive experience, De Lathouder currently serves on the Supervisory Board of NS Groep (Dutch Railways).
Chane CEO Fabian Ziegler said De Lathouder’s operational leadership approach and focus on developing strong teams made her a strong fit for the company’s culture and future ambitions. He highlighted her emphasis on collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement as qualities that would support Chane’s ongoing development.
De Lathouder said she was looking forward to joining Chane at a time of continued evolution for the company. She noted the important role Chane plays in supporting customers’ supply chains and said she sees opportunities to build on the company’s existing foundations while creating further value for customers and employees.
Based at Chane’s headquarters in Rotterdam, De Lathouder will work closely with teams across the company as she takes on responsibility for operational leadership.
