Automation technology company Emerson has entered into a new strategic collaboration with Equinor to provide measurement instrumentation technologies and lifecycle services across the energy company’s global offshore and onshore operations. Oman LNG has completed an upgrade project involving two of its gas liquefaction trains at its Qalhat facility near Sur, with large-diameter butterfly valves supplied by AVK incorporated into the upgraded cooling-water discharge system. Oman LNG operates three liquefaction trains at the coastal facility, with a combined production capacity of 10.4 million tonnes per year. The company processes, liquefies, stores and markets natural gas and LNG for customers in Oman and international markets. Global energy technology company SLB has secured a contract from Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) to support the restoration of production from shut-in wells across several offshore fields in Brunei. The project will cover a range of activities, including subsurface evaluation, identification of suitable well candidates, engineering and offshore execution. SLB will also coordinate project management, well intervention, monitoring, metering and marine logistics as part of an integrated approach to restoring production. Continental Resources is set to significantly expand its presence in the Permian Basin through an agreement to acquire FireBird Energy II LLC, a portfolio company of Quantum Capital Group. The transaction will add a substantial Midland Basin position to Continental's existing operations, bringing further oil-weighted production and development opportunities within one of the United States' most important oil-producing regions.
