Shell Bahamas Power Company Inc., a subsidiary of Shell plc, has reached a final investment decision (FID) for the development of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in The Bahamas, marking a significant step in the country's energy transition. As part of the project, Shell has acquired a 40 percent stake in New Providence Gas Ltd. (NPG), a joint venture with Sun Oil Holdings, a subsidiary of FOCOL Holdings Limited. DP World has deployed 35 electric terminal tractors (ETTs) at the South Container Terminal (SCT) at Jeddah Islamic Port, increasing the terminal's tractor fleet by more than 20 percent as part of its ongoing US$800 million investment to modernise port infrastructure and reduce emissions. The new electric tractors will transport containers between the quayside and the yard, supporting vessel operations while replacing diesel-powered equipment with lower-emission alternatives.
